Renee
Hello, My name is Renee and I had cervical dysplasia. The method of treatment for me was "out-patient" laser surgery. I could of had this procedure done in my doctor's office, but I am not a calm patient when it comes to female medical problems. I was very nervous and (at first) wasn't sure if my doctor was treating this in the most efficient way. The more I talked with her and got to know her as a person and vice versa, the trust started to build. You need to develop trusting relationship with your doctor and try to have an open mind. I'm not sure if you had a bad experience in the past, if so, you might want to address that issue as well. Sometimes having blind faith and praying about it can be helpful. The reason why I am writing to you is because I understand how scared and nervous you must be. Please do not let this go untreated. If it is not taken care of, the method of treatments down the road only become more severe and invasive. You are young and you have a full life ahead. Try to talk with your doctor as much as you can and try to learn about this illness so you can feel "in control" of your treatment and body. I have been free of cervical dysplasia for nearly one year! I had two pap smears since, and everything checks out great! This is a major relief. Don't let this go on and be a burden for you. Once it is taken care of, you just need to go for follow up visits to make sure it doesn't come back again. A small price to pay for a BIG lifetime ahead of you! If you would to talk more, please feel free to send an e-mail to my address attached. Okay? I'm here for you. kindly, Renee
