Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome

Message 6 of 25 Previous Next

CRPS (Chronic Regional Pain syndrome (CRPS) better known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), is treatable only in the first 3-6 months with PT and nerve blocks. I have had it for 6 yrs , following a torn rotator cuff and 2 shoulder surgeries . You say your surgery was in 96 , but didn't say how long you have had the RSD . You may have passed that window of opportunity ( the first 3-6 mos) , in which the disease can be reverse or put into remission. However , you may still be able to get some pain relief through nerve blocks. You should consider also joining an RSD support group ,it's most important that you have good support . You can learn all sorts of information from talking with other RSDers. Good luck to you.hugs,Catherine
