I suffered from cervical dysplasia for years. There are 3 stages, stage 1 being the mildest case, stage 3 being the worse. You should find out which stage you have. My Dr. showed me diagrams in books to illistrate the differences. This is not cancer. It is a predisposer to cancer. Dysplasia is a change in cervical cells, left untreated it can become cancerous. For whatever reason the cells begin to multiply at a rapid rate that exceeds normal cell growth (most cancers are this). In some people removal solves the problem and it never comes back. In my case it was a repeated occurence. I had cryosurgery, and cone biopsies. I went to the Gyn. every 3 months then 6 months if tests were negative after a year. Eventually (10 years of treatments) I had a hysterectomy because there was not much cervix left. Have your Dr. explain what stage you are in and your treatment options. Do not leave it untreated. Cervical Cancer is very dangerous but with regular monitoring of dysplasia it can be prevented or caught early enough to easily treat. Good luck.
