Due to a cysticercosis (parasite) in my eye, five retina reattachments and cataract surgery were performed nine years ago. A scleral buckle was placed around that eye to keep the retina in place. Now, nine years later the scleral buckle has moved, and is visible, very irritating, causing even worse double, blurry vision. One retina specialist wants to remove the buckle entirely, one specialist wants to remove only the part that is about to break through, and one wants to do surgery to try to move the whole thing back where it was originally. Anyone out there ever had this (rare) situation? Thanks!
