I think that what your doctor is talking about is endometriosis - Stage 1, which is the first and lowest stage of it. I would definitely get a second opinion as there are a lot of ways to treat endometriosis without having a hysterectomy. That is the way that doctors used to deal with it several years ago before they learned more about it. Endometriosis is NOT cancer but can cause excessive bleeding and a lot of pain. Especially if you want more children and since it is only stage 1 out of 5, I would check out my options with another knowledgeable gynocologist in your area. You can also look up a lot about it on the internet as there is a wealth of general information about it that might assist you to make your decisions. I wish you the best of luck. I had Stage 5 Endometriosis about 10 years ago and eventually did have a hysterctomy as it kept returning, but even for me it was a last resort not a first. My thoughts and prayers will be with you as these are never easy decisions to make.
