Am 62. Contracted in calf of rt leg 7 weeks ago. First appeared on or near ankle bone, swollen, red, painfull. Saw Dr., prescribed Keeflex. No remedy. Next had imaging at hosp. Normal blood flow. By now (2 weeks) has moved up to inner left calf area & is accompanied by swelling of entire area below knee to toes (extreme edema) painfull to touch. Rash has also broken out forming scaly blisters. Itching is severe & skin is highly sensitive to touch. Dr. has now prescribed Augmentin 875 twice daily. This has caused itching rash to break out all over body. Hot bathing of affeted area does seem to relieve symptoms and rash diminishes at night and reappears within short time of arizing. Swelling is always present and has hastened nerve nueropathy in toes of rt foot. I also have Diabetis Type 2 (13 years). At this point am thinking of consulting another Dr. for possible admission for I/V Antibiotics. Have also read via search engine of non medically endorsed product called "Colloidal Silver" and will consult w/ professional befor trying. Am at absolute wits end at trying to get rid of this. Have never had anything like it in my life. Anyone who reads this and has been thru it and is cured, please advise. Thank you.
