mineral replacement can help a lot. try minerals and calcium/magnesium by innovative natural products. available at health food stores or on the net. very well absorbed. magnesium is a relaxing mineral and can help significantly with spasms. needs other minerals to balance and help with utilization. works like a charm. of course you are probably deficient in good bacteria in your gut leading to poor absorption so make sure you get a good probiotic to replace bad microflora with good.
