I have just found out that I have Iritis. It started 3 months ago and I was blaming it on the fact that I had just started taking hormone replacement therapy. I've worn contacts for 25 years (I'm 46, female) and never had a problem. I figured it was the HRT causing intolerance to the lenses which is common. I went to my eye doctor and he said he didn't see anything, told me to stop wearing my lenses for awhile, no make-up, change soaps, etc. I did all that to no avail. Then I decided to stop taking the hormones. Finally, I made an appt with my medical doctor who suspected iritis. I saw another eye doctor 3 days ago and he diagnosed it. I am using steroid/antibiotic drops, homeopathic drops and refresh gel at night. And, I am a secretary--not the job to have when you have iritis. I am really down about it after all I've read. My eyes are very irritated and they hurt. The best way to describe it is it's like having someone else's really strong glasses on all the time. Would welcome any e-mails from other sufferers. I don't even want to think about a "next" attack. I am just praying for this one to end.
