Does anyone have any information on Necrotizing Pancreatitis? A relative is suffering from it, hospitalized for 3 weeks. The doctor said most cases of Pancreatitis get better in about a week, but this is a much more serious form. There is only a small piece of the pancreas not destroyed. The doctor says that it could mean up to 6 months in the hospital, with the recuperation taking another 6 to 12 months. The outcome depends entirely on how much pancreas is still functional, and how well it fuctions. Any information from someone who has been through this would be helpful.
