I am a 39 year old female and have also been diagnosed with Costo. I have been out of work now for four weeks. I thought I was having a heart attack when it first flared up. I have seen many doctors too; Cardiologist, Pulmonary, Neurologist and have been to the emergency room twice. This is very painful and I have been told also that it is the inflammation of the cartilage between you breast bone and rib cage. There is a new anti-inflammatory out called Bextra. I was already taking Vioxx for my osteo-arthritis in my knees and am on mepergan for pain. This has been very painful for me and am still not over it. I hate the thought of having to live with this for the rest of my life. If you haven't tried Bextra yet, get some samples from your Primary Care doctor. That has helped me some. Good luck and many prayers to all that have this painful illness.
