Studies have shown time and time again that people with fibromyalgia should be doing light aerobic exercise on a daily basis. This can be just walking but it has to be fast enough to get the heart rate up to your target zone. It will help but has to be done consistently. We know that this will improve oxygen flow to the muscles and this mechanism can decrease the pain experienced by people with fibromyalgia. The biggest mistake people with fibromyalgia make is to get caught in the "good day-bad day" roller coaster where they do too much on good days and not enough on bad days. Your activity must be consistent. Start out with light aerobic walking of 3-5 minutes a day and then every week increase it by a minute.until you are walking 30 minutes daily at a fast pace. It may take a long time to get there, but it will work if done properly. Good luck.
