I have had Angioedema since i was 12 years old. I was told when i was first diagnosed with it that i would probally out grow it. To this day i still have it very severly. It is not a big life threating disease if you seek medical attentention as soon as you feel dicomfort from in in certain areas such as the throat and airways. I dont know what kind of specific info you need on it but if you could be more specific im sure i could tell you. Here is the definition of it....................The development of large welts below the surface of the skin, especially around the eyes and lips. The welts may also affect the hands, feet, and throat. The condition is associated with allergies and histamine release. Causes, incidence, and risk factors: Angioedema is a swelling similar to urticaria (hives), but the swelling is beneath the skin rather than on the surface. There seems to be a hereditary tendency toward the development of both angioedema and hives. Angioedema is associated with the release of histamine and other chemicals into the bloodstream, which is part of the allergic response.
