thyroid, liver/cholesterol, diabetes, gout, uric acid linked together? I have talked with several people with high uric acid/gout, and they all seem to have the same personal and family history of thyroid problems, liver problems/high triglicerides and cholesterol, diabetes or insulin resistance, and then the high uric acid/diagnosis of 'gout'. Has any research or study been done linking these 'diseases' together? each of them also had a history of surgery with prolonged anesthesia that seemed to be the prelude to the other health problems. which would lead me to believe that they all really begin with the effects of anesthesia on the liver.
