I know someone who is a 44 year old male with resistent porphyria cutanea tarda. His condition is complicated by chronic hepatitis due to Hep C, out door work and "social alcohol". His ferritin levels are normal, not responded to cessation of alcohol or covering up. Not sure whether bleeding him useful in the light of normal ferritin levels or giving him chloroquine in the light of his raised liver function test. Any ideas? Thanks.
