I was having lots of burning sensation deep up in my vaginal area off and on for 1 1/2 years. My gynecologist told me I kept having bacterial infections when see would take a sample from me and use a microscope so then I was given either flagyl or clindamycin or metrogel to clear it but the infection kept coming back. So I tried a second doctor. He said I wasn't getting infections and didn't know what the burning deep up inside of me was and then I tried a third doctor and she did a laparoscopy on me and found endometriosis all attached to my female organs only. She said my burning wasn't a symptom of endometriosis but apparently it was because after I had hysterectomy in November it very slowly started getting better thru the months. To this date I still have a burning sensation, but it's tolerable. My doctor is trying me on elavil now because she thinks it could be a nerve problem. She first thought I might have pelvic varicosities but I got tested for that too and they didn't find any. Just thought I would share what I went thru. I got a total hysterectomy but still am trying to solve the problem I still have with slight burning sensations. Has anyone been through this and what can I do about the burning? Thanks.
