This is a plea to anyone who wants to do anything about the fifth leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. I am tired of seeing people sit on the sidelines and forget about the terrible suffering that their loved ones with pancreatic cancer had to endure. No more will I stand for poor research with no direction and no effort put into stopping this disease. Research is not about having your name published in a paper, it is about bringing an end to the pain and suffering that people have to live with when they feel the tears of people who weep the ill fate of their loved ones. A random blue moon Jimmy Carter commercial on pancreatic cancer is not enough. There is a much more proactive stand against breast cancer, diabetes, HIV, lung cancer, ..., but how much interest and dedication are those of you who are crying about lost loved ones are you putting into this disease. The Whipple Procedure is not a cure for pancreatic cancer, there needs to be a further advancement. I do not know what the answer is, and I don't know who does, but if there is anyone who has the slightest inkling of the direction to take, please e-mail me.
