I had my gall blader removed. Following the surgery I had normal pain associated with my surgery and was released. That night I had what felt like the worst gall stone attack I have ever had - I know the gall bladder is not there but the attack felt the same as the attacks I thought I was ridding myself of through the surgery. Now, I am unable to eat ANYTHING without experiencing severe pain that the strongest pain medication can not touch. The surgeon said the surgery went well and I was likely ridding myself of stones in my "common duct". While I understand the physiology associated with the common duct - how is this problem corrected. Has anyone experienced this problem? Have you had further procedures or did the problem subside after a period of time - how long? Help - the pain is constant (as long as I am eating) and I need to find a solution - I wish I had never had the surgery.
