In '94 I was diagnosed with IBS at age 54.The gastroenterologist told me to live with it and I told him to kiss my ass.I asked him for some codeine to reduce pain and he gave me a hard time saying he NEVER would prescribe such a thing. I told him to kiss my ass again and went to another doctor. Lactaid instead of real milk? BULL. I eat ice cream and yogurt without problems.IBS begins when I have a second bowel movement in one day. So when that happens,I take just one Tylenol #3(with codeine) and I get either no pain or a couple of stings at most. The experts say that stress causes IBS and exacerbates it. Bullcrap.I was under great stress with both my parents slowly dying and it didn't affect my IBS whatsoever. When my IBS began, on a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the most severe, I was a ten. Now I'm a ONE and you can be too.
