You'll see a lot of products advertised for weight loss. Some seem relatively benign and others are based on amphetamine drugs. The herbal supplements claim to be healthy for you, but quality control on active ingredients is truely terrible. Moreover, NONE of these preparations has a verifiable track record in controlled clinical studies with five year followup. That should clue you that most if not all of the claims are fraudulent. The only weight loss program I've seen in several years of reading medical and internet literature, that seems to have a track record of success for many people is Weight Watchers. Before you begin attending meetings, however, you should be checked out by an internist or endochrinologist to be sure your weight problems are not a symptom of some other underlying disorder such as a thyroid problem or juvenile diabetes. I wish you wellness.
