You just described my son. He is 8 years old. I have been telling his teachers since kindergarten that he needed to be tested for ADHD. He is a severe asthmatic and used the nebulizer 3x a day every day and he also takes prednisone orally quite often. Yes the meds can make him more hyper. I do not believe in putting a child on ridalin unless it is the last resort. Also he is on enough meds already. The best way to treat ADHD that I have found is to learn about the decease. The brain of a child with ADHD works differently than other children. Work with the school counselor, your pediatrician and have him tested. There are many websites that explain ADHD. Good luck. Remember, knowledge is power!
