This is a general test of liver function. Many things (e.g., intense exercise, use of ibuprofen) can cause a temporary elevation of ALT. See your doctor. You should have your ALT retested to rule out liver disease/damage, but it's very likely the test will come back negative. The Red Cross policy is a little stringent in my opinion and is not entirely consistent with FDA guidelines.
