Hi I was also diagnosed with a latex contact sensitivity, developed by wearing lab gloves (I was an immunologist!). I am now also sensitive to the hypoallergenic latx gloves as well. The dermatologist said that she saw new cases of this, caused by wearing lab gloves, every week. I don't wear a medic alert, but do fill it in on any medical forms and ensure that it is on doctors' and hospitals' notes. Because of this I also have a cross-sensitivity (ie the anti-latex antibodies react) with banana and avocado. Some people react to some foods, not all people, and not all the same foods, because of this. I don't work in labs any more but am able to lead a normal life with no problems. It is now possible to get nitrile gloves. Good luck and don't worry.
