The standard treatment for multiple myeloma has been chemo & stem cell transplant, but is associated with high mortality rate. I'm reading about new technology that show's thalidomide & dex maybe effective, or new information from german researchers showing a combination of cyclophosphamide, etoposide and dexamethasone given with thalidomide has a lower risk of neurologic and renal failure. Anyone have experience or an opinion ? I'm getting ready for a stem cell transplant in the next couple of weeks, however, not sure it's the right way to go with new data coming out daily.
