My doctor told me I had irritable bowel syndrome too. First of all, there is no such thing, Its an excuse for something they don't know about. I fired my doctors (plural) and insisted there was something wrong, lucky for me 2 diseases were found. One call Clostridium Difficile and the other is Lymphocytic Colitis. I took 8 tablets of Pepto Bismol (2 tablets 4 times day) for 3 months. My diarrea went away. I also avoided gluten and lactose for a while. Also, I avoided greasy foods. I too take Culturelle which is acidopholis in a very potent strength. You can find this on the internet at Culturelle.com It has billions of live acidopholis instead of a million like the ones sold in stores or yogurt. You have to put back the good that your body has lost. I got C-Diff from too many antibiotics but you can get it from other things too such as dirty equipment for bowel scopes and such other equipment especially in doctors offices and hospitals. I hope this may help you to lessen your pains and trips to the bathroom as it has helped mine and many others tremendously. Also, a good research place is to finerhealth.com and gihealth.com. I'm glad that I refused to beleive in this so called diagnosis of "Irritable Bowel Syndrome" It geatly paid off for me. I went to the Cleveland Clinc in Cleveland Ohio, They found my disease doing a bowel scope and biopsy after many years and many doctors. Funny, I don't have the Irritable Bowel Syndrome any more. So I'd like to help others if I can by spreading the good news. God Bless you all who suffer this wasting disease.
