White Blood Count

Carla

Message 1 of 1

Hi, My white blood count also has been elevated, so far the highest was 21,000 been high since last June of 2000. Or it could have been high before that and never knew because my doctors never gave me a copy of my blood work. Anyway, I know that one medication, Zanaflex, that I was on for a month in Sept of 2000 made it elevate also, I was taken off that, I have no infections, and am not a drinker to make it go up. The only illnesses or diseases that I do have is Reflex Sympathic Dystrophy in my right upper side of body, hypothyroid, pinched nerve, spinal stenosis, bone spurs, herniated disk and bulging disk in my lower back which affects my back and legs. Also as of this month my periods aren't on schedule. So far I haven't found any evidence of my illnesses would make my white blood count be high. I was suppose to have back surgery back in Nov of 2000, but the neurosurgeon won't touch me until my white blood count is back down to 10 or under which is normal. I have read that there is a medication that can help the white blood count to come down, but I can't find the article for the medication. Has anyone else seen the article? or can anyone else help me with info on how to get it come down a little faster then what it has been? It only comes down maybe a point every couple of weeks if that. I went for blood work every week for awhile, then I decided to take a break from it becuase it was driving me nuts on why is won't go back down. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
