I think that the suppression of the immune system with enbrel is so effective that it leaves your system unable to fight off infections and viruses. I had the reverse happen, I had a severe case of chicken pox and then came down with rheumatoid arthritis. So, I did not get chicken pox from the Enbrel, but had a blood clot with pulmonary embolis and a major staph infection that they are suspicious that they might be because of it. There may be a linkage between Enbrel and ChickenPox and adverse reactions... I am going to talk to my RA doc about it, for sure, to see if any other reports are out there.
