I don't know if this has anything to do with what you are experiencing, but I thought I would tell you what happened to me. It is similar. I had itching and redness in the back of my knee. It was just a little patch to begin with. It kept getting bigger and bigger. It finally wrapped around my whole knee. The doctor gave me itching cream and we kind of ignored it. I golfed all the time then. So thought it might be an alergy to something. After about a year, I woke up on New Years Eve day so sick I could not even move. I barely was able to call work. I was only 40 years old at the time. I went back to bed. About three hours later I woke up to go to the bathroom. I felt awful. I had never felt this bad before. As I passed the mirror, I noticed I was all splotchy. I went back and looked and I had a rash everywhere, (including private places). I laid back down and took my temperature and it was 103.6. We called my doctor and my husband rushed me down there. He guessed scarletina. I won't go into details, but this went on for months. High fever, no parts of my skin were white anymore. I was a complete rash. I was sent to every kind of doctor there is. My skin was biopsied and sent to Georgia Disease Control. No one ever diagnosed this. After about 3 months my skin started pealing away. Patches of hair came out the palms of my hands and bottom of my feet came off with the pealing. They finally decided that since I worked for the Welfare Dept. and was around a lot of different cultures that it was some 3rd World Disease that we didn't know about and treated it as such. (Fresh air, sunshine, exercise and etc.) After 6 months it was finally gone. I no longer had much of an immune system and still don't to this day. I am now 50. I hope this is not what is happening to you, but it all started with a little rash in the bend of my knee. Good Luck. If anyone else has ever had this or finds out what it is. I would still love to know. It really changed my life. Thank you. Linda
