The surgery you are referring to is called a Nissan Fundoplication. I think, before you embark on this surgery (which is done by some surgeons laproscopically) you should read as many satistics as you can with respect to the success of this procedure in reducing the discomforts and damage of long term indigestion (heartburn). There are a number of people who claim that there is a great improvement in their conditon, while others will STILL have to remain on a PPI (prilosec, prevacid etc.). In addtion I know of some people who have had to have had this done more than once,because this "fundoplication wrap" can become loosened. Above all I would strongly suggest that "if" you decide to go in that direction, you have this done by a surgeon who has done many!! Please email if I can be of any assistance.
