The cause of dry eyes is not known.It is due to change in quality of tears.It seems very frightening at first, but gradually improves, and one can eventually lead a normal life. Treatment consists in using artificial tears, like MOISOL or ointments like LACRILUBE as often as the eyes feel ''dry''.Wear protective goggles when going out. Also washing of eyes whenever one comes home,to clean any road dust from eyes.Do not do any dusting, or stay in a room that is being dusted or vacuumed.Your own room should be free of dust. Above all try and lead a normal life. I suffered since 1991, but am now quite normal,though I still use MOISOL once every night. Please feel free to email me with any further questions.
