I was on Aciphex and it worked fine but I had to change HMOs and they took me off it and put me on other meds that were in their "formulary". Neither Prevecid or Prilosec worked. Finally they put me back on the Aciphex but the erosion was so bad they also gave me Carafate three times a day which is a coating and healing pill. I let it dissolve in my mouth before swallowing it. I took it for two months and now I am back to normal with one Aciphex a day. I have heard that Protonix is also very good. It helps to drink a lot of water and of course elevate the head of the bed. I can't eat chili or anything spicy or anything with vinegar in it. Everyone is different and you will discover what is OK and not OK for you. Hope this helps.
