When I had symptoms, it seemed to be a pain not actually where my gallbladder was, but in my kidney area. It also felt as if I had really bad indigestion. I went twice to two different doctors and they said it was wind! (embarrassing!). Eventually I moved abroad and the pain got very bad - one night I couldn't sleep and felt that the only way to stop the pain was to stand on my head. By this time I did have pains in the gallbladder area as well as my kidney area and I also felt I was suffering from bad indigestion. I went the next day to the doctors and they ordered a scan which showed I had three gall stones the size of maltesers and the pain was caused by these moving around. As I had had the pain on an off for so long, the stones had damaged my gall bladder so it also had to be removed. If you think you may have gallstones, get it checked out now and demand a scan.
