I developed folliculitis in May of 2000. After two months of misdiagnosis, I developed two swollen lymph nodes, one at my hair line (at the back of my back of my head) and the other about an inch down on my neck. The pain from the swelling was so bad that I could not sleep more than 20 minutes at a time and the pain radiated from my neck to the right side of my face, down my right arm and down my back. I had both nodes removed in October 2000. I finally found a dermatologist who cleared up my problem and I thought that it was over. Now I have folliculitis again and another very painful swollen lymph node. I am considering having this one removed also, because it is causing my face to swell, pressure behind my right eye, pain and weakness in my right arm (I am a pianist) and pain in the upper right quadrant of my back. If you have any suggestions besides surgery email me. My first surgery was a disaster. I had the surgery on a Friday, when I went back to the doctor on Monday both incisions were infected, a week later I landed in the hopistal for 5 days with IV antibiotics and then another month of daily doctor visits with oral antibiotics. I am diabetic and I hate antibiotics. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
