I have found that if I eat fresh garlic, garlic powder or something with large amounts of garlic salt that I have an "allergic type" reaction. My tongue and throat go numb and begin to feel swollen. I discovered this about 8 years ago. I have not been tested to verify that I have a garlic allergy. Is this unusual? I try to avoid garlic as much as possible - however - most all dishes contain garlic. Under what circumstances is a garlic allergy tested?
