I have always had irregular periods but for about three years now its gotten worst. Last year I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I know this has an effect but I am on medication (thyroxine 0.1mg), but my cylce is still 3-6 months with no periods and 3 months and more of continuous menstration. My doctor keeps saying that after awhile as the hormones return to a more normal level the periods should become regular. I am very frustrated at this point and I am not convinced that the medication alone, after taking for more than a year now, will regulate the periods and I'm also concerned about fertility and more prcisely, what effects my condition has on this.
