About 6 weeks ago, I passed several kidney stones. The stones were analyzed and I have been told that they are calcium based and I was advised to limit my calcium intake in additon to drinking lots of fluids. I was also told Istill had several stones in my right kidney but was not in any eminent dagner of passing them. Several days ago my urine started having a smoky color to it so I went to see my doctor and requested a urinalysis. My urine did have blood in it but I had no other symptoms of a kidney infection. I did take Cipro for 7 days following the kidney stone episode for the possibility that I had the beginnings of a kidney infection then. The doctor I saw when I had the urinalysis done said they'd run a culture on the sample to check for an infection but that I could be passing small stones and that may account for the blood in my urine. Is this typical following kidney stones and when you still have stones in a kidney. Any comments would be helpful.
