My heart goes out to anyone with dumping syndrome. I've had this problem for 8 mths following a surgery for Parasophageal hernia. I have been to many specialists and have every test imaginable. My diagnosis at the moment is possible damage to the Vagus nerve during surgery. Pancrease and Fibercon are my only salvation accompanied by a fat restricted diet and eating several times a day. I still have a lot of pain and severe cramps and am totally fed up as the prognosis for me seems to be wait and see if in time this will go away. My life has totally changed but by figuring it out for myself I do have some control of my diarrhea. I have lost 30lbs and have had some scary trials along the way. I've just finished a course of giving myself 3 injections a day of Octretide but it did'nt help me and caused me several bouts of severe drop in blood sugar. It is supposed to arrest severe diarrhea very successfully in patients who have dumping syndrome following Chemo. Anybody have any suggestions for me it would be greatly appreciated. I'll be glad to share my info.
