I hope you do not mind me replying to your message. I was looking for some information into this condition as my father has recently been diagnosed. He also is diabetic, he is 76 next month, and we only found out about this after his third major heart attack six weeks ago. As he failed to recover and had various other symptoms, further tests were carried out. We were told he also has bowel cancer. The doctors say he is not well enough to undergo any surgery, either for the cancer or the aneurysm. He is quite frail, and has been declining in health since his brother died of liver cancer at Christmas 2000. We have made the decision to not tell him about these two conditions yet. How do you feel, since you found out? Other people have likened an aneurysm to having a time bomb inside themselves. Do you wish you had not been told? I hope you have treatment and get better. I feel there is no hope for my father - he has three major life threatening conditions and without surgery he will not live long. We don't want him to give up all hope and sink into despair. If possible, please reply and let me know what you feel. Thanks.
