Hi all, hopefully someone here can answer a few questions for me. Do ganglion cysts show up in x-rays? I've been having problems with my right wrist for the past 8 years and after going to doctors about it for years, it's only within the last year that a doctor told me it's possible I have a ganglion. We've had x-rays taken and there's nothing unusual showing up in them, but it's pretty obvious something is wrong since I lose almost all mobility in my wrist when the problem flares (this plus the immense pain seems to point to something being there, regardless of the x-rays) Also, I've read here that there's 3 methods of dealing with these things... the Big Book way (which I would try if the cyst was in a smackable place, I'd probably break my wrist if I tried this ;P), the draining way (the doc never mentioned this to me) or the surgery way (which was suggested to me). If anyone's had the surgery, can they tell me about recovery times, what to expect, etc. If anyone has any other methods for dealing with these (pain relief would be a great thing) please let me know.
