Two years ago I contracted fifth's disease working at an elementary school. I now have arthritis as a result from it. But, the good news is that the pain, and some of the other symptoms that made life so miserable have lessened. I still have some days where getting out of bed is a chore, but those days are less and less. The arthritis is managable with meds and exercise. My doctor first started me on a 6 pack of prednisone and that helped me the most. I now take a low dose of prednisone daily and vioxx. Hang in there, there is help and you are not alone.
