Hi, I was diagnosed with EBV 14 years ago and my doctor now refers to it as Chronic Fatigue. I have never had a true understanding of what the disease was or how ya get it. I have read some symptoms on here and i am not sure if mine are what ya'll describe other than being so tired. I had big red swollen feverish spots on my hips, knuckles, wrists, ankles, knees, a teperature of up to 104, and loss of sight for up to an hour and then all of this would go away. This kept happening for quite awhile. I was in the hospital for 2 months. I also experienced amnesia. I thought i was only in the hospital for 4 days.Imagine my disbelief when I learned the truth. At the same time I was also diagnosed with Meningo Encephilitus which is damage of the brain and spinal cord, as well as spinal meningitus. All my muscles are damaged and have been ever since. When you are used to feeling this way, if you ever get used to it, it just seems like a way of life. So for all these years I have been fine unil last year. I was diagnosed with Partial complex seizure disorder which is located in the right temporal lobe. That is where your memory is located in the brain. This is because of my EBV. I have to take seizure medicine three times a day now and can't seem to remember anything. Slowly losing your memory makes you ponder your sanity and is depressing. I am currently having a hard time with that and have been diagnosed with anxiety attacks as well or panick attacks. My doc is trying to figure out how to best help me as I write this. As for the Chronic Fatigue, I have been on Ambien sleeping pills for well over 5 years. I feel for the people who suffer from fatigue and can certainly understand the frustration when others don't comprehend how you are feeling. To get out of bed on a daily basis is an effort. Often I am so tired I actually feel I might just drop or throw up. So to all of you, I just wanted to say Thank You posting your stories so that I know I am not alone in this. If you would like, email me.
