My 31 year-old has developed cellulitis; he was stung during the night by something on the 22nd of September and by the following Tuesday his hand was red and swollen. He went to the doctor and they gave him Keflex(sp?) but by thursday the redness was all the way up to his elbow. He went to the doctor again and they sent him to the ER for an antibiotic drip and then gave him a RX for Augmentin. It is doing better but still has a lot of swelling; he is soaking it and it looked like something had come to a head yesterday and a lot of pus and mucous came out of it yesterday but now it seems as though a new spot or head is forming. I am very worried; can anyone shed some light on this?
