A year ago my daughter was thought to have osteosarcoma or ewings sarcoma. Her right distal femur is bowed. After her first biopsy, (no cancer was found), they thought she had osteomyelitis, a bone infection, eventhough they couldn't culture anything. She received medication intravenously for six weeks. In Dec. they rebiopsied and again were not able to culture anything. The docs. thought that the bowing was probably from the infection. I brought her back into the doc. in June and in August because I noticed more limping and her right foot would swing to the outside when she walked. In August the x-ray showed that there was some onion skinning. (The x-ray looked like the one taken in Sept. 2000.) We go back to the docs. Sept. 17 to see if it's progressing. HAS ANYONE WITH BLOUNTS DISEASE HAD ANY ONION SKINNING? She isn't in any pain, thank God.
