I am concerned that my mother's persistent anemia amy be an indication of another serious chronic disease, specifically a malignancy which has not been detected as yet. Her physician has elected not to perform a bone marrow examination. Also, he has not requested a full work-up with tumor "markers" to R/O ceratin malignancies. My mother has a great deal of respect for the doctor and is reluctant to question his decisions.
