I am a little confused here.... if you don't want to take Ritalin, why ask for a drug that lasts 12 hours? There is one, but basically it is a version of Ritalin(methylphenidate) and it is called Concerta. Don't be scared of medication if he needs it..... Some people just need it. He is in a dangerous age group, and medication actually decreases the risk of drug taking as it can take away the impulsivity and gives the kids the ability to say no.
