Hey! I am only 17 and I got my first UTI a little after i turned 16. But then i got them almost every month. Then April of 01 til June of 01 i had them every week.. I would jsut get rid of them and i would get another one the day after i was all better. I got kidney xrays and they said i am ok. Now, I am on the anti-biotic for the next 4 months!!! Yes, I am sexually active. Don't think that I am disgusting for having sex at only 16, but I have been with the same boy for almost 2 years so don't think i am an "Ricki Lake out of control sexual teen" or anything. Anyways, my urologist told me that Cranberry juice is just said to be better for you because it has the right vitamins to keep you going all day so you dont get sick of water. But, i do still take cranberry pills every day as needed. I havent had any UTI's since i have had this new medicine. But what happens when I get off the medication? WIll I get them all the time again? Nobody understands where I am coming from because I am so young and have them like a 30 year old women (no offense). I guess this is the only place for me to turn for advice. Also, I still empty my bladder before and after intercourse, but that didnt help either. And I havent drank a soda in almost 6 months! Thats a hard for a teenager like me too! PLEASE SEND ME ADVICE!!
