My five year old son, with a history of the removal of a megaureter dual collecting system and half of right kidney, along with beta thalessemia trait, has been complaining of abdominal pain. Pain that wakes him up and doubles him over at times. Other times he is just a happy five year old, running around and having fun. Other symptoms include occasional blood in the stool, and frequent pencil thin poop, but not always. Doctors have run tests on him and only abnormality is an elevated amalayse level. What could all this mean? He has had three episodes of this doubling over abdominal pain in the last two years, only for it to resolve itself. No fever. Some fluorescent green poop and once a clay colored stool. Usually has a great appetite, but now has lost two pounds. Says hungry and eats, but never finishes his plate. Pain usually begins after eating.
