I am NOT a doctor, but I will share with you what little information that I know. First of all the liver is a regenerative organ. One can live with 25% of one's liver; meaning that you could have 75% of it resected (removed) and still live. Of course this is if you are a candidate for the surgery. There is also RFA, radio frequency ablation or chemoembolization. RFA is a minimally invasive procedure where the tumors are treated just as it sounds. Chemoembolization is a procedure where a catheter is inserted into a blood vessel supplying the tumor. The cancer cells are then killed by injection of a blocking agent to obstruct the blood supply to the tumor. A catheter may also be used for arterial infusion to deliver chemotheraputic drugs into the blood vessels that directly supply the tumor. If I were you, I would go to the MD Anderson website and do research. Also, if you can, I would go there for treatment. They are one of the most advanced and experienced places for such a disease. Of course, nothing I say should be taken as gospel since I do not know the particulars of your situation. Good Luck. I hope this helps. Denise
