U.C. runs in my family. If you are a blood type 0, then staying away from wheat may help you. It helped me alot. Use rice pasta, ezekiel (sprouted grain) bread, spelt flour instead of white and whole wheat flours, and cornmeal, etc. I do not take long-term meds for this as it use to come and go on its own. I did have a doc tell me once that smoking tends to keep it at bay. Good luck.
