Hi my name is Carrol My son is 27 and has been bipolar since he was 14 . The most difficult thing about people that are bipolar is that they wont take their medication. It has taken 13 yrs to convince my son to take his medication and even then he can still go manic . My best advise to you is for you and your husband to go to counseling . this disease can literally tear families apart so its not something you can do alone . Also Thier are so many differant variaties and symptoms of bipolar disorder. Patty Duke is bipolar and wrote a good book . Information sometimes helps. But I get through it by praying a lot . When My son gets manic he also gets parinoid so it just about takes an act of God to get him in the hospital where he needs to stay for a couple of weeks to get stable. God Bless I will pray for you .
