Just received mri report and would like to see if anyone can shed light on this before I see neurosurgeon again next week. Reads small broad-based 3mm high signal intensity, midline disc protrusion with posterior annular tear at L5/S1 with moderate degeneration and no root impingement. mild to moderate disc desiccation within each of the remaining lumbar and thoracic discs without hernation. T10/11 has bulging also. Mild scoliosis and chronic residual of juvenile discogenic disease. Arthritis also. I just need something I can understand. I know I am in a lot of pain and have had back pain for years but since Feb. it has been getting worse. Hard to sit for any length of time but no leg pain. I have been taking Vicodin since Feb. and am maxxed on it and it does give relief for a couple of hours. My gp is a really great dr. but she has done all she can do. I had a short conversation with the neurosurgeon and feel he is thinking surgery only. I need options. Thanks.
